The High Court has ordered the closure of illegal brick kilns in Dhaka’s surrounding district within 15 days. The High Court, comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Hasan and Justice KM Kamrul Quader, passed the order on Tuesday (November 26).
The High Court has also directed the two city CEOs, Chairman of WASA and the chairman of the BRTA, to formulate policies related to air pollution and environmental balance.
Criticizing the digging of the same road repeatedly at the time, the High Court said that the same road is repeatedly opened for financial benefit and commission trade.
The High Court also directed to not only sprinkle dirt and water along the road but also sprinkle water around it. The court has also asked to form a high-level committee to safeguard environmental balance, including preventing air pollution in Dhaka.
